Getting Started

Follow the helpful hints as outlined below, in addition to the assembly instructions found in our how-to books, to re-create the featured scrapbook layouts. If you’ve attended the workshop hosted by your Close To My Heart Consultant, you’ll already have some of the products needed to re-create the featured layouts. You’ll notice we have used additional products, not included in the workshop, to show the endless possibilities that accessories can create. If you haven’t attended the workshop and would like to create the layouts, contact your Consultant to order the necessary supplies.

Cut the papers in your paper packet as shown below, being sure to label each piece on the back.

Helpful Hints

To re-create the layouts as shown here, follow the helpful hints as outlined. For more detailed information on how to assemble the featured layouts, refer to our how-to book Imagine^™. Your Close To My Heart Consultant can offer more information on the featured scrapbooking techniques.

• Create the pearl flowers, leaves, and stars as follows, allowing time to dry between each step:

  1. Paint 18 Just Blooms^™ flowers of varying sizes with an even coat of pearl paint.

  2. Using the sponging technique, apply Hollyhock ink to three flowers.

  3. Using the sponging technique, apply Sweet Leaf ink to six flowers. Trim the petals of one flower, creating five faux leaves. On the remaining five flowers, trim the petals to a point, creating a star shape.

• Using the fan brush, add paint to the edges of the Lilac Mist cardstock bases. Using the foam brush, add paint to some of the My Stickease™ images and to the edges of the In the Groove^™ layout pieces.
• Using the end of the paint brush, apply small dots of paint, accenting different elements of the page as desired.
• Using the point of a Pretty Pin, create a whimsical pattern next to the flower clusters and the faux stars. Stitch Sweet Leaf embroidery floss through the pattern.
• Attach brads and Pretty Pins as desired.
